  • Born in Baton Rouge and raised in New Roads, Louisiana, Charlotte grew up as the oldest of five children in a close-knit, loving family.

  • She enjoyed a joyful childhood filled with outdoor play, strong sibling bonds, and summers at the beach—memories that shaped her lifelong appreciation for family and community.

  • A standout student, she graduated as salutatorian and pursued higher education in nutrition and dietetics, earning both a bachelor’s degree from LSU and a master’s while working.

  • She built a meaningful career dedicated to improving lives through nutrition, including hospital work, teaching, and leadership roles in child nutrition programs across Louisiana.

  • She served for 15 years leading parish child nutrition programs, where she modernized school systems by introducing computer technology—leaving a lasting impact on efficiency and accountability.

  • A lifelong learner and educator, she also taught dietetics courses and continued working even after retirement, driven by her passion for staying active and contributing.

  • A devoted mother, she raised two sons with strength and resilience, instilling in them values of responsibility and character—her greatest source of pride.

  • Deeply rooted in family, she maintained lifelong friendships, cherished relationships with siblings and extended relatives, and embraced a strong support network throughout her life.

  • A loving grandmother, she takes great joy in the lives, talents, and individuality of her grandchildren, staying actively involved and supportive.

  • Faith and music have been central to her life—she has sung in church and symphony choirs for decades, finding both purpose and community through music.
